Applicant privacy notice

This notice explains how Paaci Pte Ltd (UEN 202601574M), trading as Makan Rescue ("we"), handles the personal data of people who create a profile or apply for a job at careers.makanrescue.sg, under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). It is separate from the privacy policy for our app.

What we collect

Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
Your full name, and your mobile number if you choose to add it.
Your education: schools, levels, courses and years.
Your CV, any note you send with an application, and the status of each application.
Copies of the emails we send you about your applications, so we have a record of what we told you.
A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is strictly necessary and is not used for tracking.

What we do not collect

Following Singapore's fair employment guidelines, we do not ask for your photo, NRIC number, date of birth or age, race, religion, gender, marital status or family details. Please leave them out of your CV too. If we make you an offer, we will ask for anything needed for employment (such as identity details) at that point, and tell you why.

Why we use it

To consider you for the roles you apply for, based on your skills, experience and education.
To contact you about your applications, including interviews and outcomes.

We do not sell your data, use it for marketing, or use it for any other purpose without asking you first.

Your consent

You agree to this notice each time you sign in. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your profile (on your profile page) or by emailing us. We will then stop using your data and delete it, which means we can no longer consider your applications.

Who handles it

Only our hiring team (currently our founder) can see applications and CVs, and every time they download a CV it is logged. We use trusted service providers to run the portal: Vercel (hosting), Neon (our database, located in Singapore) and Resend (sign-in and confirmation emails). Where a provider processes data outside Singapore, we require protection comparable to the PDPA.

How long we keep it

An unsuccessful or withdrawn application, including the copy of your CV sent with it, is deleted 180 days after the outcome, or 180 days after the role closes.
A profile with no sign-in or activity for 12 months is deleted, unless an application is still in progress.
If you are hired, your application becomes part of your employment records.
You can delete your profile, CV and applications yourself at any time, with immediate effect.

How we protect it

Your CV is stored in our private database, never on a public file link, and is sent only over encrypted connections. Sign-in uses one-time codes, so there is no password to steal.

Your rights

You can see and correct most of your data on your profile page. You can also ask us for a copy of your personal data, how it has been used, or a correction, and we will respond within 30 days.
